--- Vampires ••[/font]
Although the most well known of species they are not exactly as they are depicted in movies and literature.
»» Strengths
Vampires are graced with abilities superior to that of their prey. Impeccable sight, the ability to hear long distances, as well as being able to pick up scents from a distance is only a few. When paired with the deadly speed, quick healing abilities and cat like grace, as well as the strength of ten men, the vampire becomes a major threat to most.
Most people find themselves uncontrollably attracted to vampires, that is, if the vampire chooses to attract you. Once in a vampires trance the only way of escape is for the vampire to lose it's concentration, usually caused by an attack on it.
Though all vampires have the natural instinct to hunt to quench their thirst, that doesn't make them ruthless. They feel the whole array of human emotions.
Lacking lung function and therefore do not need to breath, vampires often breath just to seem human. Most newborn vampires are known to breathe simply out of habit.
Vampires are able to sleep and dream but it is not needed while most vampires only do it out of boredom
»» Appearance
Their eye color remains the same as when they were human, but are known to glow when filled with adrenaline from either feeding or a strong emotional effect such as love and anger.
Blessed with diamond hard skin there is not many ways to kill a vampire. If one is quick and is prepared to possibly lose their life then a kill maybe attempted through setting a vampire on fire or through decapitation.
»» Weaknesses
Their is skin sensitive to sunlight but only after elongated exposure to the sun will they start to crack and burn. The amount of blood in their body also effects how long they can remain outside. This however can be reduced when wearing think darking clothing to cover the body.
Fire. The easiest way to kill them. Although it may take longer to kill a vampire then it would a human, it is still one of the few things that are able to completely kill a vampire. Weaker vampires burn quickly, due to the lack of blood in their bodies and most times burn until they are ashes.
Decapitation is the most preferred way to kill a vampire by a vampire, mostly because it is a certain guarantee that the vampire is dead and you get proof of it as well. Although not any human could achieve this due to the hard skin and other abilities, but if the vampire is weak enough or allows this, a strong enough human can kill him/her this way.
»» Eating habits
Directly after feeding a vampire's body absorbs the blood to run through their own veins. This gives the vampire a small frame of time to seem almost human, a small amount of color returning to their normally pale skin. Their saliva and tear glands are also replaced with the blood from their victims.
If not drank blood in an extended period of time they grow weak, easier to kill and often insane, but still cannot die.
Most vampires prefer human blood because it is simply stronger and better tasting, but those who do not like to satisfy their instincts to kill humans, drink from animals instead.
»» Transformation
Much like the venom injection of a snake a vampire can give something called a 'dry bite' rather than injecting venom. When a dry bite is received the prey will not be changed into a vampire. A vampire can bite a prey as many times as it would like. Most new vampires cannot control the urge to drink dry and usually do so. If a vampire chooses to inject a person with venom a change will occur.
The transformation itself is slow and painful but the majority of humans end up unconscious after an hour of excruciating pain. As their organs start to die the blood starts to leak out of every opening of their body, often the reason why newborns are extremely thirsty right after transformation, which can be as quick as a two days can last as long as five.
Once fully changed the new vampire will forever have a connection to their sire. The 'father' or 'mother' vampire can always find their child and vise versa, their emotions are also forever tied together as well. That is why most vampires only have one to two children at a time.
»» Special Abilities
While not every vampire has a power, the ones that do have unique abilities are influenced by their own personalities and experiences in their human life.
»» Reproducing
Since vampires are 'frozen in time' they therefore cannot reproduce. The males lose their ability to produce sperm when they turn and the women's body can not hold a healthy baby to full term without the ability to change their form. So hybrids are defiantly out of the question.
