overall personality:
Cameron acts like a jerk to everyone he meets. He tries as much as he can to get the new people he meets to hate him. He really tries to go out of his way to make vampires hate him as well, he doesn’t like the fact that he is a vampire, even though he embraces it, but he doesn’t like others like him and treats them like the monsters he thinks they are. Try as he might he still at times can’t shake the man he used to be. As a vampire he pushes back feelings of love and feelings of wanting to belong and pushes out a shell around himself to keep anything from touching him. He let the fire go out inside of him.
Deep down the Cam that no one knows is still the quiet man he used to be. The man that would protect those important to him, the man that would stand up for what’s right. Even though he is no longer human at times the human in him still comes through. Like when he is trying to get a women to feed on he will never take a women that looks or reminds him of Annabelle, never once has he ever harmed a little child like Lilly, and never has he attacked a mother with a young child the way his mother had been taken from him, or ones that reminded him of Annabelle off for a day with Lilly. He would never admit that it compassion that kept him from doing so he didn’t want to belive he still had feelings.

birthplace:
Tennessee
history:
Cameron Darcy was born into an average family in Tennessee his mother Lillian and his father Adam were kind people that ran a small farm in 1922. He was their only child due to complications during Cameron’s birth leaving Lillian unable to have any more children. The couple was saddened by the fact they couldn’t have any more children, but that didn’t keep the couple down. Instead they showered their one son in love. When he was a baby he went everywhere with his mother, even from the time he was a young baby he loved to listen to his mother sing. Lillian at one point had lived in New York City singing and creating a strong career until she met Adam. It was a classic tale of the city girl falling for a southern gentle man. She left her promising career and moved down south with him were she adapted well to being a farmers wife. While she had grown up with lots of money in the city she got used to struggling through the start of her marriage to Adam. When Cam was older she would tell him it was the struggling through the tough that she realized how much she really did love Adam. She often spoke of how she would see her parents and she never even saw them kiss each other, they had never appeared to love each other. She would always turn to Cam and smile saying that she loved his daddy very much a nothing could ever change that. Cam grew up in a house full of love when he turned five his father began to take him out on the farm, he taught him how to lead and ride horses, how to feed chickens and how to mend simple things. The little boy loved going out with his father and loved coming back to his house where his mother made him a well cooked meal from his mother. His life was perfect for him, he didn’t need much to be happy, only his family and the farm. But that would all change, change the night a man came to the farm looking for Lillian. The night his life changed and would never go back to the way it was. Yet for many years Cam wouldn’t even know this was his family, that all this was real, to him he would think it was nothing but a dream.
When Cam was six years old a man came to the farm looking for Lillian. Cam was in his room since it was long after his bedtime. He woke to the knocking at the door, that was strange to him for no one came to the farm after dark. He snuck out of his bed to the top of the stairs of the farm house. He could see the front door and part of the living room from where he was. He heard his father’s voice asking who would be at the door at this hour, his mother’s reply that perhaps it was a neighbor’s whose cows had gotten out and needed help or something and that she would get the door. He heard his father pick his new paper back up and begin to read once again. The knocking came again as Lillian stood. Cam made sure she couldn’t see him at the top of the stairs as she came into view. She answered the door with a smile on her face, Cam could see the side of her face and could tell her smile fell as she saw who it was. Cam heard a cold dark voice speak
“I’ve been looking for you Lillian.” He could tell his mother was scared, he could tell she didn’t know what to do, she was to scared to call out to her husband. She stood frozen in fear. Cam moved over more to see who was in the door way, all he could make out in the darkness of the door way that a pale man stood there, he wore a black had and had dark clothing on. He spoke more like his mother then his father, there was not an ounce of country accent in his voice. “Did you really think you could hide from me.” The man said half a laugh in his voice “Did you really think you could run, after you found out what I was?”
Cam moved over more to get a better look, but at this point he hit into his toy truck that began to roll down the stairs, the man looked up at him and smiled, Lillian turned in horror to see her son at the top of the stairs
“A child Lilly, really? Perhaps he will be the first I kill” the man laughed.
Lillian seamed to find her voice and screamed for her husband, but he never came. Instead Cam saw a giant dog come busting into view. Lillian ran up the stairs as the dog attacked the man in the doorway. Lillian reached Cam and scooped him up in her arms, she ran into his room with him and hid in the closet with him wrapped in her arms. Cam could tell his mother was scared and wanted nothing more then his father to open the door and wrap his strong warm arms around them, but that would never happen. His father never came. He heard horrible screams down stairs yelps of pain, then nothing. His mother held her breath as footsteps could be heard in the hallway outside the room. The door opened and footsteps could then be heard in the room. They seemed to stop for a moment and then the door was opened. Cam thought it was his father, but he was wrong, the man from the door way stood there blood on his clothing. Lillian shoved Cam deeper into the closet and tried to fight the man away, but he grabbed her arms and held her in front of him.
“I could have given you the world” he hissed to her “I loved you.”
“But I never loved you” she said back, half in pain from the grip he had on her “I didn’t want the world, I just wanted Adam.”
“That mutt is gone now, join me and forget him.”
“Never I will never be like you!” she cried to him tears began to fall down her face as she realized what happened to her husband and what was going to happen to her son and it was all her fault.
“So be it.” He hissed again and bit into her neck, he sucked all the life out of her, he moved his eyes to the child cowering in the closet. He dropped Lillian at his feet, she fell in between him and the child, he smiled and was about to move closer when he heard cries of more of Adam’s kind, he knew it was the pack coming to help. He knew he didn’t have time to kill the child too, he fled the scene leaving the child in the closet with his dead mother in front of him. When a group of Adam’s friends walking into the house they found Adam dead in the hallway and knew what had come and knew they were to late. They began to look for Lillian and Cam in the house. Greg the one that had been closest with the family was the one that found Lillian’s body and the terrified boy. He took the child from the closet and went down stairs with the news he had found Lillian dead and Cam still alive, but traumatized.
He was brought to Greg’s farm where he and his new wife lived. They had only been married a week when Cam was brought to live with them. Cam Didn’t speak again for a long time. Everyone thought that he saw what happened to his family and it had caused him to shut down. He seemed to go through his life in a daze, and for six years he hardly said a word. Yet when a new girl moved to town that all seemed to change. She took a liking to the boy that didn’t talk much. She loved to talk and found him to be a perfect companion, while many of the other school kids said she talked to much Cam listened and never said a word to others like so many other kids did. She learned to read his eyes, for to her she always said that his eyes expressed exactly how he was feeling all you had to do was looking into his eyes and you would know what he was saying without him talking. Soon they could always been seen together they were a strange pair but yet perfect for each other at the same time, the boy that didn’t talk and the girl that talked to much. She seemed to brake through the daze that he had. She gave him a reason to smile again and after her being there and their friendship growing within two years Cam was talking like he had never stopped. He still let her talk most of the time for he had grown to be a good listener, but for the first time in years he was talking to other again, he could have conversations. Greg and his wife who had never in those eight years had a child of their own couldn’t have been happier with Cam improvement, for he had become their child in a way. As people tried to ask him about what happened when he was younger, about his parents he couldn’t remember, that day seemed locked from his mind. He couldn’t remember how his family had died. All he remembered was the feeling of that night, and the man that had seemed like death himself. Cam and the girl, Annabelle grew closer as they grew up together. She always seemed more bold then him, more outgoing and he always did look as if he couldn’t stand his own against any one. In school he was picked on for never standing up for himself and having a girl do it instead. That all changed when they were sixteen, Annabelle had fallen for the most popular boy in the school she and the boy Ryan dated, but it all went down when she talked back to him in front of his friends. He got angry and hit her. This continued on for a year while they were together. Cam noticed the difference in his best friend, she seamed to change. In that year she stopped being out spoken and Cam often saw she had bruises on her. After he started noticing them it didn’t take long for him to realize what was going on. Then when he saw Ryan hit her in the hallway of the school Cam lost it. He marched up to Ryan raised his hand to hit Annabelle again Cam caught it. With left hand and with his right he punched Ryan. The force of Cam’s punch knocked Ryan to the ground.
“You touch her again” Camt said looking down at him “And I’ll kill you.” No one in the school had see him ever stand up to anyone, but with this one display of what he could do people seemed surprised. Annabelle looked at her friend then down at Ryan she then moved to Cam and took his hand and lead him from the school, once they were away from everyone she turned to him tears in her eyes and cried into his chest. He wrapped his arms around her and let her cry. From that day on her and Cam became more then just friends. She realized something she had known all along, something that Cam knew as well, that they loved each other.
When Cam turned eighteen he did what many of the other men did when they had no money for college. He enlisted in the air force. Annabelle and him hated to be away from each other, but they wrote everyday to each other. The day that the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor he learned that Annabelle who was now his wife was expecting their first child. As he was shipped off to fight over seas his mind was on his wife and the child they would have. He remembered his mother and father happy, often her singing in the kitchen as she danced around with him in her arms and his father smiling and watching, then his father would come over and dance with them Camt sandwiched in between them. Loving Annabelle and looking forward to going home to them he was convinced was what kept him alive during the whole
War.
By the time the war was over Annabelle had given birth to their daughter, who on Cam’s wish had named her Lillian after his mother. Annabelle loved the name and wanted to honor his late mother. By the time Cam returned home Lilly was already 3. It took a few weeks for her to even know who he was, but once she did Cam felt as if they were really a family, him Annabelle and Lilly. Yet his happiness was brought down after being home from war for only a year. Lilly was playing with her toys by the fireplace, Cam was reading the newspaper and Annabelle who was pregnant with their second child was knitting a little hat for the new unborn child. There was a knock at the door, it was late and Annabelle looked up, Cam put his paper and asked her who would be knocking at this hour, hardly anyone came by after dark. He couldn’t help but feel in his stomach that something bad was about to happen.
“Perhaps it’s Jim, you know his cows are always braking out of their fence, he probably needs you to help him get them back in and borrow some horses.”
“Yeah” Cam said slowly as he got up to answer the door. Every step he took closer to the door he felt his body growing cold. He put his hand on the handle and for a moment hesitated, something felt so familiar so wrong about opening the door. He shook the feeling off convincing himself that it wash is friend Jim who needed his help, but once he opened the door he knew he was wrong. A man stood there, a man in a black hat and black clothing. Cam’s mind seemed to flash back to the night when he was little sitting at the top of the stairs.
“You have your mother’s eyes” the man said in a cold voice that was all to familiar to him. All in an instant memories of that night flew into his mind, the big dog, his mother’s fears, and then the man killing her. He remembered everything. He knew that this man was back to do it again.
Annabelle came walking out of the living room with Lilly in her arms, “Is it Jim?” she asked but then stopped when she saw the man. It happened faster then Cam could do anything, the man grabbed him and bit into his neck, but instead of sucking the life out of him he dropped him after only one bite. He then moved faster the light to behind Annabelle and grabbed her. Cam was on the floor in the door way, pain coursing through his body he tried to get up tried to get to Annabelle’s side, but his vision began to fail him. He heard Annabelle scream and Lilly cry. He gasped for air and tried to move to where they were, but it was no use. The house fell silent other then his cried of pain for the next three days. When it finally stopped everything was different. He looked around his house it seemed through new eyes. He sat up and saw his wife laying dead in the hallway, his daughter’s body not far from Annabelle’s. He heard people coming up to the house they were coming from the backdoor. He heard Greg’s voice talking to another “No one has heard from them in three days I know Cam likes to keep to himself, but Annabelle, she hasn’t been to town her friends haven’t heard from her I’m worried about them.” As Greg opened up the back door Cam hurried to the back door where they were, before he reached there he heard Greg’s voice again “There’s a leach here.” He heard him growl, “or was one at least, I was right to fear.” Cam came into view
“Greg” he said “Their gone, Annabelle, Lilly, the way mom and dad went.” He tried to go closer to Greg, but Greg moved away.
“Not you.” He whispered “not you” Greg didn’t let Cam closer to him he didn’t comfort him and that confused Cam , for Greg had always been one to Comfort him.
“Not me what? What’s going on? Why do I feel so different.” Cam asked him trying to find answers.
“I’m sorry Cam ” Greg whispered “I couldn’t protect you, now I must end you.” Cam was confused, but fear swept over him as he watch Greg turn into one of those big dogs like the one he had seen the night his parents died. The dog/Greg jumped at him, but something inside Cam seemed to take control, he began fighting the big down and through it into a wall, hurting it. Some horrible animal instinct made him go over and grab the dog and bite into it. The dog stopped moving and turned back into Greg. Cam held him his arms, he didn’t know what was happening to him, he broke from his animal like trance and looked down at the man that had raised him that was now gasping for air.
“Greg” he cried out “Greg don’t go, what’s happening?” Cam cried out to him. Greg gasped for air and was only able to form a few words.
“You’re a Vampire, I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you, I couldn’t end you.” Then he let out his last breath as his body went limp in Cam’s arms. The other men who had come with him came running at the commotion, they had already found the dead girls and now saw Cam holding Greg’s dead body, they like Greg knew what he was. Horrible smells filled Cam nose. He knew he had to get out of there and then faster then he ever though he could he ran, he ran from his home, his life and everything that he had ever held dear.
After a couple months he met up with people he knew were just like him, they accepted him into their coven and took on the responsibilities of a new born. They taught him how to put his past behind him, how to live a new life, for that’s what he had now, he could never go back to how he had once lived. Cam didn’t like the fact he now had to kill to live, he hated that he once fought for the country, that he had been a hero and now here he was killing people he tricked into his path. He knew if Annabelle was alive she wouldn’t even recognize him anymore. As time passed he pushed Annabelle and Lilly from his mind, he didn’t want to remember, he didn’t want to think of the life he had lost, of those he had lost. For 60 years lived with his coven, but never once did he feel like he had a family. He never once really felt attached to them. Sure he would protect them, but he never felt any kind of connection with them. So after 60 years he decided to leave them, he decided to try and find himself by being alone. He left his coven and moved to the small town Forks. He pretend that he doesn’t care about humans anymore, he pretends that they are just his next meal to him. Yet deep down he is still the boy that hardly talks the soft sensitive boy that captivated the loud mouthed girl. He pretends he doesn’t care about what happened to his family, but deep down he wants to go back to that. He can’t help but think that he and Annabelle should be sitting on rocking chairs rocking on their front porch looking at their grandkids playing in the yard of their farm. He shut off his heart a long time ago, the fire he once held is now gone and he doubts it will ever return, but who knows what will happen once he settles down in a town for more then a few weeks. Maybe someone cold brake through his shell that he put up around him, perhaps they can learn to read his eyes the way Annabelle had.

roleplay sample:
Cameron walked into his new house. This was the firs time he was going to live in an actual house since he was turned. When he traveled around with his coven they mostly just staid in top rate hotels or at the homes of the women he killed. But now here we was walking around in the house that would be his home. He looked around and the thought that about what his mother had said to him when he was younger home is where the heart is, you aren’t home until you are loved. he looked around the room he was standing in knowing if his mother’s words were true that this would then never be a home. He knew he would never be loved again and that he would never love anyone else again in his life, however long that would be. As he moved around the house his mind moved to his late wife he thought of how much she would love this house, it was big and as she would have said fun to yell cause of he echo’s. As he thought of Annabelle he knew once again that he would never love again. You believed that you only go one girl to really love, one once in a lifetime girl that changed you life. He knew that Annabelle had saved him from himself, she had given him a reason to keep on going, she had been the light in the darkness that the death of his parents had cast on him. She had been more then good for him, but as he had realized many times over since he was turned he had been the death of her. If she had never married her the man would have never come to kill her. Cam had learned over the years from other vampires that the man was named Clyde. He learned that Clyde had been in love with his mother when she had been a singer in the city, her parents had arranged for her to marry him, but then the boy from the south came and took that away. With one look Cam’s father had changed everything. Lillian knew too when she looked at Adam that she loved him. Cam had learned that his father had been a shape shifter and had imprinted on her, and that his father was a mortal enemy of the vampire. Clyde had waited for Lillian to be truly happy with her family before he ripped it away from her, then years later when he son, Cam had been happy he came to finish what he started, but he chose to play with Cam, make him suffer in Lillian’s place and cursed him to this life and killed his family. Cam had figured out that Greg had been part of his father’s pack and that was why he had been so upset the day Cam had killed him. He wished that Greg had killed him, he wished that he hadn’t been allowed to live the life that he now lived.
As these thoughts went through his mind Cam grew angry with himself. After all he was a vampire, he knew how to shut off these feelings, the vampires in the coven he had lived with for many years taught him how to lessen the pain that came from losing his human life, and everyone he cared about. In the past years that he had been a vampire he stopped being the shy man he had been as a human. He still didn’t speak much, but when he did he could get anyone to walk off with him, he could convince anyone of anything. His years of not talking, his years of listening made it easy for him to read someone, he could talk anyone into doing anything better then any top sales man. That’s how he convinced women to go back to his apartments or where ever he was staying. He often spent the night with the girl enjoying the comforts of what a women could give him and once he was done with her he would drink her dry. Most of the time he didn’t even let the girl know what was happening has he killed her, but sometimes he took it slow, sometimes he played the part of a crazy killer he would let the girl suffer, let her know she was going to die, he played with the girl like he was a cat playing with a mouse. Either way he ended up killing women that wouldn’t really be missed. He stayed away from girls there were mother’s or girls that had someone to love. He couldn’t do that to another he couldn’t leave a child without a mother the way he had been left, and he couldn’t take away a women from a man the way he had his wife taken from him. He wouldn’t admit it to anyone, but he couldn’t bare knowing he caused someone that pain, the pain that he felt everyday, but pushed away. His mind moved back to his house as he had finished looking around it. He shook his head and moved to the window, he looked out and saw dark clouds over head as rain beat down. He knew Forks would be a good place to live, after all there was hardly any sun it would be easy to blend in. To pretend that he wasn’t a monster, to pretend he was a normal guy.
